The Stewart Cannery wins Excellence in Construction Awards

The Stewart Cannery project was showcased in the North Bay Business Journal’s Excellence in Construction Awards. Located in the Railroad Square Historic District in Santa Rosa, the design of the project includes improvements for a future public street, addition of curb, gutter, and sidewalk to Third Street, and enhancement of the Fourth Street corridor to create a pedestrian promenade connecting to the adjacent Prince Memorial Greenway. Carlile Macy provided civil engineering and surveying services.

From the article: A once contaminated brownfield and an old cannery is now 129 affordable housing units. Two of the historic brick walls dating to 1915, along with loading docks and a metal canopy were incorporated into the design. Original artwork from the Del Monte Fruit Packing Cannery are part of each building, providing a connection to the past.
