South Davis Park
South Davis Neighborhood Park is a 1.34-acre park directly abutting Highway 101 in Southwest Santa Rosa. The City received a California State Parks Per Capita Program grant to install new, code-compliant play equipment and provide needed accessibility upgrades. At the same time, the City wanted to update and amend the park’s existing master plan, which was created in 2003. Through a public outreach process that included public meetings held virtually, on-site, and in neighbors’ backyards, Carlile Macy updated the park’s master plan to reflect the neighborhood’s changing needs and desires. Shortly after the City Council approved the amended master plan in February 2023, our staff began developing construction documents to implement design elements supported by the grant and other City funding. The project includes an integrated play area beneath a redwood grove, picnic areas, new monument signage, and accessible upgrades to pathways. Carlile Macy has provided land surveying, site planning, landscape architecture, and civil engineering services. Construction documents are currently under development, and the project is expected to begin construction in late summer 2024.
