Cardinal Newman High School
Over the years, Carlile Macy has been proud to help Cardinal Newman High School modernize their facilities. Known to many as Sonoma County’s Catholic School, Cardinal Newman was opened in 1964. We designed the tennis courts in 2007, which allowed the school to host league matches and provided playing space for the community. In 2009, we designed the baseball and soccer facility. The combined artificial turf facility allows for year round play, and is used by many other local leagues in addition to hosting North Bay league contests. With the closing of sister school in 2011 and subsequent switch to coeducation by Cardinal Newman, it has become necessary to update the classroom and site. In 2012 we reconfigured the south parking lot to provide for accessible parking spaces and routes, but also to create the room necessary to install solar panels to provide for part of the school’s electrical needs. Some of the panel also provide shade for a new outside eating area. Most recently, we worked with QKA architects on the new St. Angelo Merici Science Center.
