850 Turk Street
The 850 Turk Street affordable housing project in San Francisco proposes the demolition of an existing two-story parking deck and the construction of an 8-story affordable housing multifamily residential building consisting of 92 residential units and 29 covered parking spaces. Level 1 includes common areas, office space, utility rooms, and residential service spaces. There is a private court at the center of the site. Levels 2 through 8 contain residential units, including a mixture of studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom units, and an approximately 730-sf terrace on Level 8. This public housing project will be funded with financing provided by the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (TCAC), the California Housing and Community Development Department, the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee (CDLAC), and the Federal Home Loan Bank Act Affordable Housing Program (AHP). Carlile Macy was responsible for designing the site improvements, including storm drain, sewer, stormwater control, and water. Permitting included SFPUC, SFMTA, SFDPW, and SFDBI. The design included conforming to existing streets along the building frontages while maintaining ADA accessibility.
