LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT - Junior Level

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, works in a multi-disciplinary team environment on a wide variety of public and private projects from preliminary planning stages through construction administration. This position requires proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Photoshop for preparation of exhibits and construction documents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Preparation and production of plans, maps and graphic exhibits related to Land Planning and Landscape architecture.
2. Preparation of construction documents.
3. Participate in planning related workshops and public meetings.
4. Compile and analyze data on site conditions.
5. Research and develop construction materials and methods.
6. Prepare construction specifications and cost estimates.
7. Other related duties, as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
1. Background and interest in a career in landscape architecture.
2. Demonstrated experience in organizing and preparing construction documents.
3. Proficient in current version of AutoCAD.
4. Computer literacy and proficiency with Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, and Microsoft Word, desired.
5. Technical understanding of planting design, irrigation systems, site grading, drainage and storm water management, construction materials and methods.
6. Skills in GIS production and/or 3D modeling a plus.
7. Excellent communication, graphics, design and organizational skills required.
8. Self-motivated.
9. Ability to work on multiple tasks.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. 1 – 5 years work experience and a degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university.
2. LEED AP Certification, a plus.
